Monthly Update – December 2020

November at D2N – Technology Solutions saw us round out the NRL season supporting JPJ Audio with comm’s for the NRL Grand Final and State of Origin Series. We also deployed a large UHF and PoC solution for one of our security customers who are looking to centralise their comm’s requirement for a major national retailer. We see these type of solutions growing in popularity as the need for connecting remote and local teams across the country grows.  Our school rental market also continues to grow with a number of Sydney’s leading private schools now choosing D2N to supply their short term rental requirements.

Sales

In sales it has been a huge month for ACMA Licensing with Councils, Motorsport Teams, AV Companies, and Construction companies all calling on us to solve their RF licensing requirements. We provide this as a service with our own accredited RF planner in house, Jason Owen.

In the background we have also been working with a Community Radio Group in Maitland helping them prepare a license application for a new service. These types of services separate us from our competition as there are literally only a handful of people in the country with the accreditation and experience to undertake these types of jobs. We wish the group well in their application!

Club Helensvale took up a Hytera PD462 package to support their club operations on the Gold Coast. The PD462 has been our most popular radio for over two years now with all types of solutions delivered to a range of customers across Australia. PSG Security increased their fleet of Kenwood radios also taking on the NX1300 Kenwood’s cost effective NXDN/DMR/Analogue portable offering.

AIDA NDI Cameras have gone out to a few local councils in Victoria and South Australia, Kiloview encoders and decoders are still selling strongly across the AV and Broadcast market as well.  Blacktown Council also grew their fleet of Hytera PD662’s for their event management team. Over to Motorola and we added to the Site Connect system at the Wentworth Point Shopping Centre for the Cleanin group.

Motorsport

In Motorsport we built and supplied seven new complete solutions in November, part of this was in reaction to Victoria coming out of their Covid lockdown.  These packages ranged from Supercars level, to Porsche Carrera Cup, and Super 2 categories with our own brand of accessories along with custom MRTC headsets to suit.  On the radio front these systems will be using a mixture of units including the Hytera PD702, 782, and Kenwood NX3300 and NX1300.  We expect a big January from our Motorsport customers as they gear up for another years racing!

New Products

One product we have been very successful with is our custom made Covert Kits to suit wireless intercom products like BoleroFreeSpeak II and GreenGO. This month we launch a brand new version with a much lower price and stronger cable support making it a more reliable product.

Selling for $59.95 ex GST, our new 4 Pin XLR covert kits are sure to move in volume!

Another new product is our Tier 2 Motorsport Solutions Package. Designed to be more cost effective yet still high quality, our new package uses a lot of the current Tier 1 product but with the FDP Pro radio. Consisting of a complete car kit with antenna, RF cable, wiring loom, helmet kit, earphones, and PTT, then also a headset and radio for a pit crew person; the package will sell for $2,000 ex GST which is a substantial saving on our premium packages.
